Description
A middle eastern inspired spice blend, creates delicious, juicy, chicken shawarma.
Ingredients:
- 1kg chicken thigh fillets (chicken breast works well too)
- 50g Shawarma spice blend
- 500ml natural yoghurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Combine the yoghurt, spice mix & lemon juice in an airtight container or bag.
- Add the chicken and mix well until fully coated, leave to marinade for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Thread the chicken on to skewers and cook as desired (grill, oven or BBQ work perfectly)
- Serve with flatbread, salad & tzatziki.
For best results:
- Try with lamb or pork instead of chicken!
- Leave to marinade overnight to allow the flavours to soak in.
- Cook over a BBQ or on a high heat to allow the meat to char slightly for an authentic taste/look.
- Use 10g spice per extra 100ml of yoghurt, add more spice mix if needed!
